This heritage railway offers a scenic ride through the Nene Valley, featuring a range of locomotives, including steam, diesel, and railcars. The railway passes through the picturesque Ferry Meadows Country Park, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside.
Lovely find to have a drink and a cake while up very close to the steam train. Beware how close you are and the smuts from the engine.. The tearoom and platform are very authenticly old but well kept. Very limited choice in the tearoom however so don't go if hungry. Loved it, a proper find and great to enjoy the engines so close...
Nice place, a bit of retro stuff and history if railways
Arrived on the steam train, and it's like a pleasant time warp. The train sets the scene. It's comfortable and the unforgettable noises and smells from the steam engine were fantastic. Stepping out of the train on to the platform, this station has been immaculately kept. The decor is authentic and there is a lovely cafe serving tea, coffee and lovely sweet treats. If you Cross the crossing, you can see a display of old Royal Mail vans and the cab of a Royal Mail Networker train , which I used to see going up and down the East Coast Main Line in the 1990's. This is a good place to get off and have a mooch around and have a cup of tea and a slice of cake. A great way to spend a week end.
Beautiful place, watch the trains . Lovely friendly chatty staff . Lovely coffee and clean toilets . Very quaint . Away from hustle and bustle .
Absolutely love a day out with the family here we always have a lovely time this time we met Paddington was lovely and the little one was over the moon.
Lovely little station and coffee shop - friendly staff and volunteers too. Trains weren't running due to covid but the mooch round the rail yard was well worth a look.
